There are some worst people who claims they are followers of Ramana Maharshi and do all nonsense...There is a guy who is an architect by profession intially worked in Vizag now moved to Hyderabad , he goes to Satsang at Shivan road and trap innocent women and uses them for his desires...So please people don't get trapped ... Hi Jason, I’ve been enjoying your content . I agree with what you said about neo advaitans who get stuck or road blocked through just asking ‘ who am I constantly’. Although I don’t thing deep self enquiry was meant by Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharishi as just a starting point. The enquiry into self is his teaching along with surrender/ devotion . That is the key . The enquirer needs the devotional aspect to be motivated to dwell in self. Also there is no Capital S self . There is only one self . Reading Bhagavan’s own writings is always the best way forward if anyone is seriously following his teachings .

I always smile when i see self proclaimed gurus and yogis on facebook advertising their achievements and to sell their book/course. All is the One timeless Self.

I can't able to identify Vishnu in terms of Advait Vedanta. For instance I know shiv can be explain as pure consciousness, sakti is the power of shiva but i dont know why Brahman have to express itself as Vishnu

If what we think of as existence is in fact just illusion and not reality, and in fact we should come to realise that our ego is not the true self, then why have these things been created - what is their purpose? I know you could say nothing has been created but I have awareness of these things and so they have been created in some form which my awareness perceives.

Yes, i believe that this is just at the beginning as we are not yet so bad condition, there might be both way we can move forward, like we can become worse or we can maintain this state of consciousness where we are not so bad yet.. but as the current state of consciousness is.. wars, sexual assault, drugs, etc., is just making it bad for everyone. Vedic system says it will take few more thousands of years to reach end of kalyug. Maybe we are living in the good time in this kalyug (or we are already part of the simulation and we don't know) when kali has not yet to taken form, we are hoping that AI will help humanity but maybe AI will be the making of kali. Or maybe AI is the last saving hope and humans are needed to be treated as other animals. Their control over the Earth should be taken away. Otherwise Earth will be destroyed. On these conflicting thoughts the story of kaliyuga is based upon. Normally Kali-yug means age of machines when space itself starts taking control over the system. I just feel bad for the humans (and life as a whole), we are still suffering and suffering just keeps on increasing.

I had my fb & ig deactivated for a couple years. It was a breath of fresh air not having it & living in the present. Another part of me though desired to “connect” so I reactivated it 2 months ago & wow, coming back online, it really is bizarre how people get so caught up in the image they display of themselves on there. We are all human & I understand peoples motives behind their egotistical behavior as these technologies really do have a way of tapping into our deeper psychological wants/needs. Unfortunately tho sm seems to be our way of staying connected these days (especially for younger generations) which is fundamental to human health, longevity & happiness, but it truly isn’t the right kind. It isn’t real & people are blindly consumed in it in a negative manner. After a couple months back online, I honestly have lost the desire to engage as I don’t feel it fulfilling my needs for genuine human connection. If anything, it makes me feel a bit empty & disturbed. Trying to find balance in it all tho. I’m still on there, but I have muted most personal accounts & only see content in my feed that has to do with close friends, nature, spirituality, science, music, inspiration, etc.

As Baba Hari Dass said to me over a decade ago " Those who think they are in Kali Yuga, are still living in Kali Yuga..." The rest of us are present in the current ascending arc of dwapara yuga, as evidenced by our understanding of electricity among other factors. The blind will always lead others into the ditch of ignorance. I highly recommend reading the book Holy Science to truly understand the yugas and the miscalculations that resulted in the distorted idea of us still living in Kali Yuga.

I believe a significant point is being missed here; It doesn't matter what Yuga we are in. It describes the backdrop but not the potential goal. To suggest that one set of teachings is beyond question regarding which Yuga we are is questionable. Overcoming the limitations of any backdrop (Yuga in this case) is more the point of any path or spiritual journey. I keep an open mind. For example Ernst Wilhelm and his view of the initial measuring points being wrong is intriguing. Yet...someone being "right' aways contains someone else being "wrong".... Yuga's are an interesting subject no doubt. But to me the real question is what path do I follow to evolve myself.

The new agey comments about the Yugas in the comment section are so cringe. You can tell all of those people have never read the scriptures and are so desperate to make up their own understanding built on their own subjective view of the world. I feel sad for them because they will never learn and will be delusional their whole life in following new age nonsense which really means they just follow their own imagination. Some people will never be grounded or humbled by the teachings because they are incapable of learning.

While that is true that all is irrelevant so to speak, there is still work to be done. Meaning to attain out of a sense of responsibility and compassion to those who are not yet at the final human stage of spirit. And to guide people with consideration for their current state to their own highest good. The journey was for the individual at one point, but after that it has to turn to benefit the collective or I would posit that nothing has ultimately been learned.

Idealism and materialism are both false beliefs. The mind body problem only arises when the observer (jason) thinks it is separate from reality. Are you? Maya is a false belief. Same logic can be applied to free will/determinism dichotomy.
